If you are looking for a route that alternates between peaceful forests, open meadows and relaxing stretches where you can enjoy views of picturesque Vrchlabí, you have come to the right place. The route will take you to places where you can breathe clean air and ride without rushing.

The main attraction is a stop at Kněžická chalupa – a traditional log cabin pub with a cosy atmosphere, where you can enjoy the aroma of home cooking and treat yourself to a well-deserved lunch or a light snack, coffee or delicious homemade cake. The cottage is an ideal place to relax – sit on the terrace or in the barn, where this place will give you energy for the next few kilometres. The route is suitable for families with children.

Tip: There are two sections with a steeper climb on the route, but they are not long (approx. 50 m).

Žalý Lookout Tower

The route takes you to the heart of the Podkrkonoší landscape, where forest sections alternate pleasantly with open plains. From the ‘Křížovky’ crossroads, in good weather you can see the silhouette of Trosky Castle, which rises on the horizon like a fairytale landmark of the Bohemian Paradise. The highlight of the trip is the Žalý lookout tower, which offers a magnificent panoramic view – you will see not only the surrounding hills and ridges of the Krkonoše Mountains.

The route is set at a leisurely pace, ideal for cyclists who want to enjoy the views and atmosphere of the countryside. Forest shadows alternate with sunny sections, so it's a good idea to have a small snack and plenty of water ready – everything tastes twice as good with a view from the lookout tower.

Tip: Once you arrive in Hořejší Vrchlabí and pass the sign, you are less than a kilometre away from the local Medvěd brewery. The brewery is well worth a visit.

Up the hill for a view of Sněžka

On this route, prepare yourself for some serious uphill pedalling – the climb is tough, but the reward is worth it. Over the hills from Vrchlabí to Špindlerův Mlýn

This route offers not only beautiful sections through the foothills, but also a well-deserved reward at the end. Along the way, you will enjoy peaceful forest passages and open views of the surrounding area, and in some places you will have to pedal hard. But that's what makes the final stop even sweeter.

The main attraction is the Hendrych Brewery, where a pleasant atmosphere and honest craft beer await you. After your sporting exertions, you can treat yourself to a tasting, sit in the garden and enjoy the atmosphere of a place that has its own unique character.

The trip combines active movement in nature with a gourmet experience – an ideal combination for anyone who wants to enjoy a day full of cycling, relaxation and good beer.

Tip: From Špindlerův Mlýn, you will cycle up a large hill and pass the Hromovka chalet, which is worth a visit thanks to its excellent cuisine and friendly staff.

Source of the Elbe

The route will take you to the very heart of the Krkonoše Mountains, where the longest Czech river, the Elbe, has its source. Walking along mountain paths is not always easy, but every climb brings you closer to a unique experience. At the source, you can stop, breathe in the mountain air and enjoy the magic of the place where the river's long journey across the Czech Republic and Europe begins.

Along the way, you can also enjoy a pleasant rest in one of the mountain huts – whether you choose the modern Labská bouda or the traditional Vrbatova bouda, you will always find a place to recharge your batteries. Sitting with a view of the surrounding ridges and meadows will add an unforgettable dimension to your trip.

This cycling trip is ideal for anyone who wants to combine a physical challenge with discovering the iconic places of the Krkonoše Mountains and enjoying the mountain atmosphere to the fullest.

This route is one of the longest we offer and has an elevation gain of just under 2,000 metres. Even so, it is sure to find its fans.

Tip: It is good to know that there are two short sections (approx. 200 m each) on the route where cycling is prohibited within the KRNAP. In these places, it is necessary to walk your bike, but this does not complicate the journey significantly – on the contrary, it provides a short break from pedalling.

Špindler's Cottage

The main attractions are Špindlerova bouda and Erlebachova bouda, where you can recharge your batteries, refresh yourself and enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding countryside. Sitting on the terrace or taking a short break inside the chalet provides a well-deserved rest after a more demanding section.

This cycling trip is ideal for anyone looking for an active mountain trip with challenges and rewards in the form of beautiful nature and mountain huts.

Tip: On the way, you will pass through the village of Strážné, where you will find the Strážné Municipal Restaurant - it offers excellent cuisine and Zajíc beer is served here during the summer.
